It’s almost Thanksgiving, and the yearly tradition of the president pardoning turkeys has arrived! Peach and Blossom are two lucky turkeys from Minnesota that flew all the way to D.C. to be saved from becoming a Thanksgiving feast.
After spending a night at the Willard InterContinental hotel, their feathers were nicely plucked in order to prepare to meet president Joe Biden. On Monday, the official pardoning ceremony occurred on the White House Lawn.
President Biden remarked, “May we use this moment to take time from our busy lives and focus on what matters most: our families.”
Now, the beautiful turkeys are back at home in Minnesota where they will spend the rest of their lives at FarmAmerica.
Peach and Blossom were lucky enough to be saved this Thanksgiving season. However, many others are not as fortunate. Volunteer at your local food bank or send a donation to the Salvation Army to help others enjoy a nice meal for Thanksgiving!
